Wondering if anyone has suggestions about the best way to present a Gallery page with a lot of content? Currently using the approach of separating multiple categories within “Text with title” blocks and multiple slideshows within each. http://www.InMaricopa.com/photos and http://www.InMaricopa.com/photos-review
One issue for now is the general length of the page. Eventually when there are more categories and more galleries, it will be difficult to get users to scroll to the bottom. Any thoughts on how to organize, sort by date, etc.? Is there a way to create a simple “directory” or sub-menu of categories/galleries (maybe a drop-down) at the top of the page where users can review, select and the “jump” to a specific one?
Another issue is load time. That many images (thumbnails?) on a page seems to load pretty slow. Even on our high-speed connections, there is a period where the gallery thumbs are out of place until the bandwidth catches up and sorts them all out. We’re using WP Smush Pro but up for any suggestions for optimization.
Sorry if this isn’t the right place to reach out for advice/ideas on this. Nothing is broken, just hoping to get some feedback to better take advantage of a nice Newspaper feature.

You should try to use Tab element of Visual Composer and add in it “Text with the title” with your desired gallery. If is not what you mean and if with my quick solution you cannot achieve as you wish, please try to find some plugins with this functionality or please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to do this for you because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry!

Really appreciate the quick feedback! Pretty sure we tried this originally but were told that the tab feature in VC wouldn’t work with Newspaper. Looks like others on the forum had similar issues. Our latest attempt looks like this: http://www.inmaricopa.com/test-gallery-tabs/ Uploaded screenshot here in case link isn’t working. Tabs seem to stack on top of each other instead of preferred format.
If you guys are aware of any workarounds, please let me know. Willing to try anything.
Noticed that the screenshots were all Newspaper 6. Would that mean that these functions might not work on Newspaper 4? The lazy load looks great but can’t seem to find it in the Theme Panel.
Also, any thoughts on some kind of category selector at the top, maybe a drop-down but not necessarily, that would jump link or anchor to the specific Gallery on the page?

This kind of workaround that I gave you above is not tested for Newspaper 4. If you do not want to do an update, you have to find some plugins with this functionality and try to see how it works for you because we do not have other solutions in this regard. Also, if you want to do some additional customizations to your site and you want to display more levels and you are not aware with the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to implement this thing for you because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry!
