Testing another instance of the theme

Hi,

I’m preparing a redesign of a website built using Newspaper. To test it properly, I need to have a local instance of the theme running (CSS styling is not enough as I have to change theme settings as well, so I can’t test it as a child theme on an active installation).

Will the theme be functional enough if I run a non-activated copy of it on a local machine for testing only?

Or, if not, is there a way around? How to play with the theme for preview only?

Hello menneskedyr,

Do you refer to the policy of the theme? Normally the Envato policy allows using a theme only on one install. You can, however, use the theme on a sub-domain if you plan on creating a testing site, but if we are talking about totally different sites with different content, then only one theme per install is legally allowed: http://screencast.com/t/NqzloVgyUJB.
