The child theme's function file is not working

My site https://shabdakosh.org/ is a online Bengali dictionary, I want all the posts on my site to be sorted alphabetically, when a user clicks on the next button they can go to the next post in alphabetical order. I wrote custom code to alphabetize posts in child theme’s function file but it’s not working.
Another problem is, after using the live search option, I am not getting any option to shorten the search result, I want only the post title and h3 headers to be visible in the search. And the search results will be alphabetical.
Even if I type a single letter, say W, Live Search will only display posts starting with w in alphabetical order so that the user can easily find the desired word.
I don’t know where my created or edited template files are, will my created or edited template files be lost if I update the theme or tagdiv builder, or disable the builder plugin for some reason? How to save them?

Hello!

The alphabetical order of the theme is not working, right? Please give an example of the page where it is not working.

A solution for sending a screenshot/video is this:
Download, capture, and send: https://www.techsmith.com/jing-tool.html
After making the screenshot, you will have a link; paste it here.

The child theme is not overwritten by the update. An issue for that could be the compatibility of your child theme with the new version of our theme.
If you have some custom modifications in the theme files, then better save the code and replace it after every update.

Thank you!

Hello!

I get it now. Unfortunately, we do not have these features (modify the search criteria) in our theme.
Maybe you can find and use a plugin that can do this for you.

For customization and other services, you can contact our custom work team here: https://tagdiv.com/premium-customization-services/.

Thank you so much for your understanding!
