I bought the theme newspaper 7, but it gives the error: the destination directory already exists “.
I tried to install it in two ways:
1) Downloading the “installable wordpress file only”, and,
2) Downloading the “all files and documentation”, and choosing “newspaper.zip” to upload to wordpress.
Always give the same mistake…
It happened to me on another site – when I was trying to upload the same theme with original theme already installed. I deleted the installed theme (after changing to another theme) and was then able to upload the zip file – it worked.
However, as you described – it seems you are installing Newspaper 7 for first time – so i am not sure why this could happen.
You could activate one of the default themes – like twentyseventeen, delete all other themes (logout, login – i am saying this just-in-case), and then try to upload again.
FTP always best way to install anything with WP due to different server/ownership permissions on some servers.
Well… problem solved!
I changed the active theme to twenty sisteen and erased all other available themes and then upload newspaper from the “installable wordpress file only”.
