The featured image is not scaled in post when using style 1 (image left corner)

The featured image is not being scaled down to 300 px width when displayed in the post view.
This is for post settings > when using style 1 (image in the left top corners).

This results in not optimized images, e.g.
https://www.photoworkout.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/pictorem-1-696×464.jpg is resized in HTML or CSS from 696×464 to 300×200. Serving a scaled image could save 35.0KiB (81% reduction).

See content example post: https://www.photoworkout.com/pictorem-canvas-review/

How can I serve the image at 300×200?

Hi,

In order to achieve that you’ll need to set and image in content text and align it to left -> https://www.screencast.com/t/PgW9IqcaZQKz -> https://www.screencast.com/t/0lQ37eTR -> https://www.screencast.com/t/CNkIrFSD4kKw -> https://www.screencast.com/t/lhbFacwG after that set the post template to style 5 https://www.screencast.com/t/e3vTm5Zp1oS , in this way the feature image that appear on modules will not appear in post content and will appear only the image set from as -> https://www.screencast.com/t/5q0qR8gx

Hope this will help you!
Thanks.

Hi,

that’s quite some work do do this for each post.
It’s an ok solution but not really ideal.

Is there a way to define Style 1 image to be rendered at max 300 px width. E.g. in the Child theme?

Hi,

Unfortunately for post template style one this will be the only solution, sorry, you can try to use a single post template from tagDiv Cloud Library, but unfortunately there is no style like style 1, sorry!

Thank you for your understanding!
