The theme is recurrently breaking my site

For the last several updates, the theme simply breaks the site. Sometimes displaying full file paths to visiting users!!!

In one of the last updates, one of the plugins that the theme required (the page composer) had to be removed or else it would no longer function with the theme’s new version. So instead of asking to remove it before carrying on with the theme upgrade, the geniuses behind tagdiv simply coded it to disable the composer plugin. So the homepage became a big collection of scrambled letters!

But the worst was with this last upgrade, when they erased my activation key. Instead of requiring me to reenter the key on my next login, they simply deactivated the theme altogether. And it gets worse. After the theme upgrade I visited the site and it was fine, so the key validation occurred later when I had already left the site. Probably some cron job that runs every few days. Awesome!

And this new version required me to reinstall that old plugin. The site looks fine now, but I just sense that at some point the theme will realize that it needs to deactivate the plugin and the site will break again. Can’t wait! Will be checking every 30 minutes I guess.

This is all such TERRIBLE practice. It is even hard to understand how any one would think this is the way to go. They need to be smarter than this. NEVER deactivate a working plugin. NEVER deactivate a theme without giving the customer an opportunity to prove they have purchased the theme. Think ahead. Use your brains.

If you run a big company, and you have the staff that you can designate to be reading about every single development of every single 3rd party app that runs on your site, then you should be good to go with this theme. (My tip though: if you have a company this big, just hire a developer to design your own customized theme.)

All others, you probably don’t have the time to keep your site up running with this theme. I am already looking for a replacement, purchasing this theme was just wasted money.

pfff… which replacement are you searching for and is it possible to switch the whole website to an other theme? This theme breaks every fucking time it’s getting crazy. This forum will become my second home.

Can you tell me if it’s possible to switch themes and nó lose SEO or anything that important?

Also to admins, I also have a topic open please help me. Not everyone is technical and the amounts of time that my website brakes is just crazy.

noori020, you can purchase another theme, install it, activate it, and then configure it. It’s a lot of work, but keeping Newspaper looks like it will be a lot of work too so I guess that shouldn’t help us decide.

Yeah I knew how to activate a theme lol, it’s just all those blog posts and SEO and other stuff bleh….
