HI. I have switched my website’s theme to newspaper and I love it.
The only thing that is driving me nuts is the inability to disable modal image preview. I have some posts that I need the user to go to attachment page while clicking on the image, but instead, a modal preview appears.
I have switched off modal image globally, however it seems that the settings do not take effect. I do have the images inside the posts in gallery bundle (not posted as single image), and the images do not have modal option on.
Can you please suggest why this is so? I really need the images to be clickable and send user to attachment page.

Unfortunately galleries open in a modal image by default a gallery cannot link to an attachment page in our theme. If you want the images to link to the attachment page, you should not use galleries.

Is it possible for you to create a small fix that I can apply to my template so that default behavior of galleries would be to use modal image across my website?
Or can you point me at right direction so I can have my programmer do this change? I really need images to open without modal image option and since my website is pretty large I cannot afford to go and delete all galleries across my website for the images to open as non-modal images.
Your action on this would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it would be useful but unfortunately we do not have such an option to provide at the moment I will add it to our list for future updates and if this request becomes more popular, we will consider implementing such an option into our theme. We get lots of requests and have to prioritize based on popularity.
I have searched for a quick solution but came up empty unfortunately. The development team will have to have a go at this but we do not have a customization department so we cannot offer any such modification on short notice.
