Theme customization issue

Hello
I m planning to hire a web developer to customize the theme.
I would like to know if the theme could be customized.

Are there any problems that will occur after the theme customization?
Moreover, will the theme customization affect future updates?

Hi,

It would depend on what are the customizations you are planning to do. They may work properly or they may cause problems. If you want to modify theme files you could use a child theme, these are the files that can be modified in a child theme

Note that if theme files are modified directly (in the main theme) these modifications will be lost after a theme update when the files will be replaced.

Also to take into account is that a modification that will work now, may not work in the future.
