Theme doesn't display properly on homepage. Customising demo

Hi.
I’m using Newspaper 6.1.
I’ve installed the theme on my website and want to use the Homepage – Newspaper look.
I’ve gone to Homepage and added the Homepage -Newspaper template.
However when I look at my homepage it is not displaying correctly. The Big Grid Slide is not there nor are all the elements of the theme such as the blocks. It just displays a list of posts and the default sidebar boxes.

However when I install the demo and select the Homepage – Newspaper template, it looks perfect. I have tried to emulate all the settings but it doesn’t work. I’m wondering If I have not applied the theme properly to the Homepage but it looks okay to me.When I try and install the demo without the content it doesn’t work. And there seems to be no signs that there is anything different.

Why is the template not being applied properly to my homepage?
If I install the demo with the sample content, how do I make the Newspaper theme the default for my homepage and remove the other pages so it is safe to use?

Hi,

Please set you specific page as static frontpage from Settings – http://screencast.com/t/Olj49OsS and when you go to all pages it should display which is your frontpage – http://screencast.com/t/kPyMOxXOIzy2
