Theme panel effects only visible to admin

Hey folks,

I just noticed when a friend viewed our site that it wasn’t reflecting some new changes. I cleared W3 cache, purged CDN, hard reset browser cache, etc. and still no luck. Then my friend noticed that I was logged in, and when I logged out, sure enough, my browser also showed the wrong styles. I looked at what was different and realized… all my theme colors and custom CSS from the theme panel were the changes that hadn’t been updated!

Why would the theme panel’s changes only be visible to an admin (or at least a logged-in) user? Any ideas?

..although it works on another logged-out computer.. maybe some caching problem I still haven’t figured out.

Hi,

Yes, probably it has something to do with caching, I’m not sure, please make sure you have emptied cache and check again, if this still happens please send an e-mail at contact@tagdiv.com and provide your wp-admin user and pass so we can check this, please send a link to this topic also or specify your issues details.

Thanks

Thanks. The problem turned out to be that I switched to WP Super Cache to see if its performance was any better than W3 Total Cache, but then I switched back. I checked my .htaccess file on a sneaking suspicion and sure enough, WP Super Cache hadn’t cleaned up its rules properly, which explains why none of the caches I was clearing did anything.

All good now. 🙂
