Theme settings reset – Cloud Library Templates

Hi there!

Since the new update, the theme settings continue resetting to default, breaking my site.
In other words, I use Cloud Library Templates on header, footer, post default, 404, search, etc, but all of these settings continue to reset themselves – I’m having to redo the configuration about 10 times a day!

I tried everything:
– Reinstall the theme via ftp
– Reinstall the plugins via ftp
– I deleted and deactivated several plugins that were not tested by the theme
– I don’t have any cache plugins enabled (CloudFlare only)
– In CloudFlare I disabled minification and everything

Things you should know:
– I have the latest wordpress version
– I have the latest newspaper theme version
– I’m using multisite and the error occurs in only one of them (the others seem to be fine)

– I host my website on wp engine, but the cache is disabled so we can find out what’s going on

Plugins installed:
– Ajax Search Pro – Activated
– Akismet Anti-Spam – Activated
– AMP – Activated

– Jetpack por WordPress.com – Activated
– Post SMTP – Activated
– Redirection – Activated

– tagDiv Mobile Theme – Activated

– Yoast SEO – Activated

And just to reinforce, all the sites in the multisite installation are working perfectly, they all use the same plugins, but only one seems to continue to reset the configuration to the default (or -no template-).

Hi there!

I contacted you, thanks for that.
But have have found out that the ajax search plugin is causing the problem. I deleted the plugin and drop the tables from the database. Now everything is ok.
I came back here to leave this information for if someone is having the same problem as me.

I have found this old post looking for solution for my website. I have live news portal page which has same issue as described above. In last 24h all setting reset itself to default twice. Yes, I have backup for settings and I import them back. Also I need to set to global my cloud templates which also resets.

Happened again today, after i did update. I noticed that theme panel created backup file of the theme settings on the exact moment when this happened:

This time I was doing some changes on the home page and dont know for sure if saving changes triggered something or not. My ip in these logs is first one xx.xxx.251.62, server ip is xx.xx.55.78

I located raw access logs at the exact moment and this is what I find out:

Hi,

unfortunately your suggestions which you sent to me in email after my site inspections didnt help. My site is keep reseting randomly and it is very embarassing for a news portal which exists from year 1997.

As an update for the rest of people who may face similar problems I tried turning off Import backup settings, deleted all other Newspaper Theme versions. Deactivated some less known plugins which I thought that might cause some conflicts but nothing helped.

I just want to post possible solution for others who may face similar problems, because I think that I found out what was causing my problem resetting all the theme settings.

I have Wp Total cache plugin installed and among other turned on option for Database cache and Object cache. After I disabled those two options (it was 10 days ago) I didnt face with this issue any more. Hopefully it will stay like that.

Probably problem was causing was just one of the mentioned options, but I really couldnt test anymore and I just left it like that satisfied that it works now.

So, if anyone else face something similar you can try turning off one of these options.

We’ve been having this issue for years now, and recently it has gotten much worse (multiple times per day, sometimes twice, sometimes 5-10 times).
Have you encountered any further issues since you disabled the object cache?
