Hello,
The thumbnails are very blurry in my site http://vietnamaustraliatrade.net/ despite I’ve done everything possible. Check on retina thumbnail, regenerate thumbnails.
Very strangely the thumbnails looks great on flex blocks but not in others.
And more strangely they look great in TD Composer on every blocks, but they immediately become blurry on normal viewing.
I don’t have this problem when I create my other site http://vietnamtradeoffice.net/ that use Magazine template.
Please help my deadline comming!
Thank you,
Sol
Hi,
Could be the same from this topic, if it only happens with Chrome
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/image-loses-much-quality-in-mobile/
Seems to happen after the latest Chrome update.
Thanks
You can compare the thumbnails between Block 1 and Flex 3 in this test page
http://vietnamaustraliatrade.net/test/
The quality of Flex is far better comparing to Block 1
But in TD composer that Block 1 looks great
Maybe I am misunderstanding, which images are you referring to exactly?
I see them like this – http://prntscr.com/mkiy33 – http://prntscr.com/mkiyaj
What I mean:
1) Not all block thumbnails are blurry: Flex thumbnails are very sharp but other block thumbnails are blurry. You can see the test page on my site:
http://vietnamaustraliatrade.net/test/
Where in Block 1 the thumbnails are very blurry, but they are sharp in Flex 3.
2) Thumbnails of ALL blocks are sharp in Composer. But they become blurry in normal viewing
https://www.screencast.com/t/S6htMAa3kNj
That image show the Block 1 but in Composer mode. It’s sharp.
Thank you,
Sol

What image size have you selected for the flex block modules?
From what I can see the full size is selected, so for example this image
– http://vietnamaustraliatrade.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Chu%CC%89-ti%CC%A3ch-Thu%CC%9Bo%CC%9B%CC%A3ng-vie%CC%A3%CC%82n-U%CC%81c.jpg
Will be displayed in full in the flex block modules and will provide a more quality result by loading the full image size but this will increase page size.
The predefined blocks will always make thumbnails by cropping the original image

This is the result in my case with an image from your website, flex block vs predefined block
– http://prntscr.com/mkvym3
So it is expected to be some differences in this situation. We do indeed recommend using flex blocks instead of predefined blocks, these are way more flexible.
Other than this I fail to see what the problem could be.
I agree that some feature images are too small. But that is not real source of problem.
I just adjust the test page a little make the size somehow similar . Please look at it again
http://vietnamaustraliatrade.net/test/
Do you see the huge quality gap between two sets of thumbnails?
And I said again, in the TD Composer mode, every thumbnail looks great. I can give you my account (through email) so you see the page in Composer mode by yourself.
And again I work with Newsmag for several years now and I don’t have this problem. I strongly believe that there is something wrong with Newspaper. Please look at it more closely.
Thank you,
Sol
So in the composer they look alright? Quite unusual, for me they look the same, I am trying but I can’t find visible differences
– http://prntscr.com/ml00pg (Chrome)
– http://prntscr.com/ml02vr (Firefox)
– http://prntscr.com/ml03re (IE)
We have not made any changes to how the thumbnails are created or added image filtering that would affect quality. As I mentioned there will be differences between predefined blocks and flex blocks, more visible specially in smaller modules like in this case.
Predefined blocks have the same functionality in this matter since their introduction.
If in your case there are visible differences between the composer edit screen and the actual page, we could take a look. Send us admin login by email at contact@tagdiv.com so we can check it. Include a link to this topic in the email.
I have sent the account to the email address.
The only thing I would like to ask is please make the thumbnails in publish view look as good as they look in the TD Composer mode.
Please notice how the footer looks so different in two modes too.
Thank you very much,
Sol
I am not sure about your pictures. They seems alright for me. But in my site, please look at this picture
http://vietnamaustraliatrade.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Difference.png
Please look at two thumbnails both showed the same flag and almost the same size.
The upper is Block 1. The lower is Flex 3. One blurry and one sharp. Why?
Hi,
This problems appear after the last update of google chrome, and is not appearing in all browsers, usually is in chrome and sometime is possible to appear in edge too, but please try with other brewers like Opera and Firefox.
If you say that using flex blocks the thumb of feature image is more sharp, then please use the flex blocks, also the flex blocks give you a lot more options for style and layout ( also you can set different layout on each device );
The difference of block and flex block is that the thumb for blocks are set as image and in flex blocks are set as background image also in flex block you can change the image size.
Thank you for your understanding!
