Featured Videos Thumbnails are no longer showing up in the new version of the newspaper theme. Please advise.

Previous to version 9, Video Featured Images worked fine, but now they are not always working and I often am forced to add an image to the Featured Image area just so there won’t be a blank space where the thumbnail should be, but the video will show correctly on top of the article.

Hi,
There were similar reports by a few users, we will make some more tests in this matter. Currently there is an issue with Facebook videos, but YouTube videos should work the same as before. I tested multiple videos, and found no problem with this.

On our end featured videos from YouTube work same as always, I made a test with a video from your website – http://prntscr.com/nwwljp
However there are cases when this may not work. Like for example if an older PHP version is used. We recommend PHP 7, 7.1 or 7.2 if possible. Or maybe This could also happen if GDlibrary or mbstring PHP extensions are not enabled on the server

I am running PHP Version 7.2.18 and both GDlibrary and mbstring PHP are enabled on the server. I have the format set at video and the code for a featured video in place and Style 9 chosen for post settings and thumbnails do not show up. I can actually add a featured image and leave everything else the same and the featured image will show up for the thumbnail and the video will show on the top of the post. What gives???
We could take a look if you send us an email as mentioned above. I made multiple tests on my end, but I can’t recreate the problem you are having. Maybe a plugin is causing it for some reason, we may need to deactivate your plugins temporarily to check. Let us know.
