TOP ARTICLE WIDGET ERROR

Hi,

on http://www.iphonologi.fr home page, we have installed the TOP article widget from the theme with 7 days best read articles and checked the “7 days sorting” in the news panel as advised.

The issue is that the posts displayed by the widget are not relevant and are very old.

Can you check and help us with that ?

Thanks and Regards.

Raphaël

Hi,

Please note that “7 days” feature pulls from ALL the posts the most accessed in the last 7 days NOT the posts that are published in the last 7 days. Also you can test it by editing a post and take a look at custom fields: http://screencast.com/t/mSiJvu61tGj then refresh the post a few times and check if it increments. If those values are changed when the post is viewed then 7 days sort should work properly.

Thanks!

Thanks for this answer. We made the changes and see the changes in WP backoffice but the widget still displays old articles.

What we tend to do is get the 10 or 15 most read articles of the week and have them displayed on the Widget in the Homepage sidebar.

Can you get us through this ?

Thanks.

Hi,

If those articles(old) are accessed more than new articles in the last week, they will appear on the widget. Are you sure that the old articles don’t have more views?
Also if you use a cache plugin please make sure that you enable ajax post view counter – http://screencast.com/t/hEBDKH8T

Thanks!

Hi,

everything is set up as per your advises but we still have not the right articles displayed. We have double checked that and the top articles displayed don’t match with our most viewed ones in the 7 days period statistics…
Any other lead ?
We’d really need to solve that issue.

Thanks

Hi,

Please check this also without any plugins active except of Visual Composer, clear cache and purge you files if you use CDN. Then disable any js/css minification(it may cause some issues) and also the CDN.
Create a test page, add a block with this kind of sort order and see how it goes.
I have checked this again on my side and did not found any issues.

Thanks!

Hi,

I am quite desperate. We did all you advised and still end up with a list of top articles which have nothing to do with the ones that have actually been the most viewed in the past 7 days.

We really could help your help on this as this widget is hurting our brand image real bad.

Thanks

Hi,

Please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin access so we can take a closer look, also paste a link to this topic so we can know who you are and what your issue is.
You could create a test page for us using just a block with this sort option and also we will disable your plugins for short time when we will log in.

Thanks!
