Can Top Menu have submenus?

I have submenu on my topmenu but it doesn’t seem to properly display. Is there a theme setting that allows me to create the submenu on my topmenu?

thanks

Hi,

Unfortunately like you can see also on our demo, the top menu was not designed to have submenu. We will try to implement this in future updates.

Sorry for inconvenience and thanks for the message!

Sub Menu’s on top menu’s are part of WordPress core. I can be mistaken, but it sounds like the theme broke the basic functionality of WordPress, so shouldn’t this be a higher priority.

In the meantime, what is the best way to resolve this issue immediately as waiting for the tadDiv team to try to fix this basic functionality in a possible future update doesn’t give us much confidence that it will get done and we are looking to launch our website ASAP.

Thanks

Hi,

The wordpress menu doesn’t come with a dropdown, you can check on a default wordpress theme (twenty twelve, etc.).
The main menu current behavior and functionality is custom built, the top menu uses wordpress default structure.
We plan to improve it in a future update, unfortunately it’s not an easy task and we cannot doit sooner, sorry. We have a major update on the line and a lot of features and fixes and the top menu is not a priority for the moment.
If you cannot use it on it’s current form we understand and we can offer you a refund, just send an email at contact@tagdiv.com , paste a link to this conversation and we’ll discuss the details.

Thank you, Emil G.

So you are saying that my current site http://bostontweetup.com/ works because of custom coding on the theme level vs the wordpress core level? Doesn’t the built in menu from workdpress come with the ability for levels? I am just seeking clarification as it seems like an easy thing to implement. Can I custom code until new update. What is ETA of this update as I just bought so I want to plan launch accordingly.

Hi,

There’s a tutorial here – http://cssmenumaker.com/blog/wordpress-3-drop-down-menu-tutorial
The menu file is located in parts – http://screencast.com/t/72PCXNaBLPei
Version 5.0 will be out by the end of May.

Thank you, Emil G.
