Hello!
I’ve got small problem. I need to display most popular posts by week on my website. But, unfortunately, this function is not working properly – now most popular posts by all time are being displayed. I use default filter All categories, chosing 7 day sorting doesn’t affect Block 3 at all.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?)))
Thanks a lot,
Orysya
Are you ignoring me?)))
I’ve figured out alredy how 7 days sorting works – but anyway I do not understand why 2-years old posts appear in the TOP popular posts. They have not been viewed at all during last 7 days (i’ve checked it) – they simply have the most views during all time.
It looks like Newspapper bug…. Is there any way to fix it?
P.S. I have the latest Theme version and have done this already
“Please make sure you also have the post views active and also test this without using caches as the last days 7 post count works based on post views so if you use cache this might not work properly.
Also note that it pulls from ALL the posts the most accessed in the last 7 days NOT the posts that are published in the last 7 days.”
Hi,
Sorry for delay, we answer to the most oldest topics and because you’ve added a new replies we missed your post!
Please make sure that you enabled 7 days post sorting from Theme Panel > Block Settings – http://screencast.com/t/WbnxbTsx4 also you can check this without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active as it might be some plugins conflict. Also test it by editing a post and take a look at custom fields: http://screencast.com/t/mSiJvu61tGj then refresh the post a few times and check if it increments. If those values are changed when the post is viewed then 7 day sort should work properly.
If you want to display only last 7 days created posts, you can use “random posts from last week” sort order – http://screencast.com/t/Xa7PfhAI0vi
Thanks!
Top Post 7 day sorting is not working well.
Here is the screen of this week post http://i.shotnes.com/a/14/u5olrkuo.ecu_55a4e1d83a46b.png – Post_view_count_7_day_total increments after refreshing the post.
But here is the screen year 2014, there are no new views for many months http://i.shotnes.com/jsb9oXi4 .
In the field Post_view_count_7_day_total SHOULD BE 0 not 1829…
Please, correct me if I do not understand right how it should work.

Hi,
I have checked your site and you have some javascripts erros in the console – http://screencast.com/t/AiAFSaeS0dO5 and also I have refreshed few times an article from your site and the view counter doesn’t work properly(it doesn’t increment on each view). So please fix those errors in the console, these js errors usually are caused by plugins that conflict with theme javascript, then check if you still have this issue with 7 days post sort order.
Thanks!
But deactivating of all plugins, except included in the Theme, until solving the problem with 7 day sorting may couse not small inconveniences but big problems for us. There are a lot of visitors on the website and copywriters are working all the time.
Is it possible to copy the site for some time on the other server for testing, I mean won’t such copying block your Theme?
Hi,
You can install the theme on a test site or localhost and make any test you need.
Thanks!
