Yes, it would be great if tagdiv would implement a feature like that to their share-buttons.
there are some plugins for this in case anybody is chomping at the bit – popular on Mashable and getting popular on many sites; I think the mashable style plugin might work – but haven’t tried it:

obviously if you want that functionality now, why not just buy the plugin?
I personally don’t need the little graph element, but some people may find that cool.

I have not used Masharer as originally it required a third party site to track the combined shares, which was dumb but simpler from an API point of view. The author is re-writing the plugin (mid Aug. 2014) to not use the third party site for the total tracking, so keep an eye on that plugin as possible awesome solution for the “Mashable style” total + clean buttons look. The *new* version will have support for the top 20 social networks, which is very cool.
Just some thoughts re this topic 🙂
At the moment i got mashshare running. But im really not comfortable with the third party site involved. If this really gets thrown out and responsivity gets improved, i might be satisified with it.
Social Buzz plugin looks nice and i thought to myself: if newspaper people would consider it to be included, why buy it 😉
