The trending widget at the top just after menu is not showing trending articles, as per our knowledge its not showing the popular articles which are currently getting more users attention, or is there any way to add a widget in a home page for trending topics!

Hello Gadgetsay,
Please notice that the Trending feature is just a simple block which displays only the post title it could be set from Block Settings, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/Zl7VTlGe8S
If is not what you mean, please provide more details so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.
