Hi, how can I selectively turn off Featured Image display in individual posts.

The only way I can see how to do this is to use a child theme with the featured image php stripped out so only inline images are displayed – not ideal – ideas please…. the theme really locks me into using featured images to display on Home page etc, but how to control on post page selectively?
