Typekit instructions look different

I’ve tried to follow the instructions for using Typekit, but I have a completely different screen.

When i go to Typekit.com, I’m automatically forwarded to fonts.adobe.com/typekit, but what I see on the screen, and the instructions I see at https://forum.tagdiv.com/font-customization are completely different.

Hi,

Thank you for your remark! It seems that the Adobe changes the website and that’s why appears this difference, sorry! Font implementation should be the same.

Thank you!

This does not help at all. The new adobe font site gives you a stylesheet link to include in the html head. How can you do this with this theme??

Hi,

@cosmacelf
Seems it does – https://helpx.adobe.com/fonts/using/embed-codes.html

You could add that code in the theme panel analytics section – http://prntscr.com/njubu8
It will be loaded in the theme header. Or if you use a child theme, enter it in the theme header file – http://prntscr.com/njucy2

Either of these methods should work.

Thanks

Hi, Simion,
I’ve the same problem and I`ve pasted Adobe’s link in the theme panel analytics section as you’ve recommended.
Unfortunately this hasn’t made the theme panel’s “theme fonts”-section listing the adobe font within the font family pop-ups in “Font setting”.
Does this mean that adobe font users have to embed the font via altering all relevant css by using custom css code?

Hi,

@ArminH
Try the javascript method in the same analytics section, that should work

We will try to update the guide as soon as possible, sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks

Hi Simion,
many thanks for your immediate reply. Unfortunately my adobe font (klavika-web) hasn’t appeared in the font’s lists – no matter, wether I paste the javascript code you provided in the analytics section or in the typekit section under “theme fonts” (surely by using the right adobe code instead of the “xxxxxx”).

But on the “adobe embedding typekit code” site I discovered that adobe mentions the old javascript codes should still be working.

Pasting the old code in the typekit section of theme fonts, the new font appears in the lists, indeed.

But unfortunately the new font isn’t used by all elements, although I switched all Font settings (from “Header” to “body”) to “klavika-web”. Especially the Header of the posts are still using Open Sans (see http://www.ex-ev.de/exev_neu/)

Different from other themes, Newspaper seem to create a sort of interim classes which overwrite the main classes (see mark on screenshot https://prnt.sc/nlzgzk).

I’m sure there will be a solution.

Kind regards
Armin

Hi,

I saw that specified in the guide, glad it works. The theme panel font settings will not apply if a more specific setting is used for the block itself. Fonts set in the block settings style tab – http://prntscr.com/nmaxek will override the theme panel settings. this is works currently.

So I believe the reason why your desired font set in the theme panel is not applying, is because there is a font set in the composer – http://prntscr.com/nmaxqn
Edit the page with the composer and check if that is the case, set the font options to default and the theme panel font should apply.

Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Hi guys,

I’m having the same problem.

How did you get the old code from Adobe Typekit for your desired font?

Thanks,

Hi gmgcreative,

In order to get the javascript code fonts from Typekit .com you’ll need to:
1.Create an account on typekit.com
2. From Kits menu select Create new Kit
3. In the new pop-up menu:
-Specify a name for your Kit
-Specify the domain name were you will use the font
-Press Continue Button
4. From the next pop-up copy the javascript code
5. Go to Theme Panel > Theme Fonts> Typekit.com Fonts
6. Paste the javascript code that you copy from the Typekit website

Please follow our documentation -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/font-customization/

Thank you.
