Hi,
Using Themeforest on my Mac locally while developping (site not online yet). Everything works fine, except the visual composer does not work (a main reason for my purchase of this theme), the button actually doesn’t appear as it should. Without this button, I can not do anything to compose easily my homepage. I am now struggling and waisting too much time without this functionality. Reading previous posts, I’ve tried de/reinstall WPBakery, etc, but nothing works. Strange because my configuration is relativelly standard (Safari, last version of WP and Themeforest…). I activated the VC function (both in my profile and with API key).
Could you please help urgently ?
Best, Yan
Hi,
Please make sure you delete and re-install the VC Bakery that was included into theme files, like this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
Also please re-upload your theme files and make sure you do it like this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/
Should work fine.
Hope this helps!
Thanks
Hi Lucian,
I did everything as you mentioned (except that my site is developped locally on my Mac and didn’t need ftp), but I still do not see the VC button, neither on the Page nor the Post modification view.
Can you verify on your side if my VC license is activated (when I re-clic on the “Activate” button it doesn’t seem to do anything)?
Please let me know what to do? Would it better to chat on the phone? If yes, let me know your number.
Truly appreciate your concern and reactivity,
Yan
The VC license is built into the theme, so as long as you’re using the version which ships with the theme and have installed it from the download folder “plugins” into the wp-content/plugins/ folder and activated it; it will work. There is no license code for the “bundled” version. It works as long as you are using the Newspaper theme.
Some things never work “locally” believe it or not, which is why I gave up on that for WordPress dev, and now always test things on a live server, even if a test domain, or sub domain (not always possible with client, of course).
Not sure that will help.
Note tagdiv doesn’t provide phone support for the theme, as far as I know.
If the plugin is not activating from the WP theme panel > plugins > activate plugin – then it likely means the plugin wasn’t setup properly, such as decompression from zip error (corrupted file). If a plugin won’t activate that usually means either file(s) corrupted, or wordpress not installed properly, or the “paths” to its own folders is not correct.
