Hello,
I am trying to update the newspaper9 theme. I completed the download step.
“Log into your ThemeForest account, in your Downloads tab look for the Newspaper theme
“Click the Download button next to it and choose to download the Installable WordPress Theme (the WordPress file)”
Now
” Step 1 – Deactivate the current “Newspaper” theme from the Appearance > Themes section by simply activating a different theme. Once you activate a different theme, delete the Newspaper theme. Don’t worry, your content will not be lost.”
I can’t do this step because my doesn’t have the Deactivate button at the corner.
Right now I am running on Child Theme of the Newspaper9. When I log into “apperance”—“themes”—I see 2 themes :parent theme and child theme of the Newspaper9. The child theme is currently activated. And I can’t DEACTIVATE these 2 theme.
Hi, I have using the V9.8, with a child theme and some custom code in this. So how to update to the version X? Does i need to rebuild a new child theme for the Newspaper X? Please send me the step to update in this case. Can i only need extract the zip theme file and over write cope to the V9.8? Sorry i am very now on wordpress.

Download any other free theme and activate it. Then you’ll be able to deactivate Newspaper.

If I do what you suggest: which is: ACTIVATE the free theme,then DEACTIVATE Newspaper9, then DOWNLOAD the Newspaper9 UPDATE, and ACTIVATE the new UPDATE theme, will I lost all the content that I created, and the website theme I work so hard on? or after I activate the new Update, everything will go back to normal? SOrry I am new.

First of all you’ll need to make sure that you’ve make a full backup to your website, including database, and only after that you make the update. After you download the theme from themeforest, you need to deactivate the theme link this https://www.screencast.com/t/HokGyKmb19 , also we recommend to use the child theme that comes with the theme package, but please do not overwrite the theme or the child theme.

So that mean we need to install as a fresh theme. And all my setting custom for the old one will be lost? There anyway to get my setting on Theme panel and tagDiv Composer! of the V9.8 to X?

The settings from theme panel and tagDiv Composer will not be lost, please check our documentation for theme update -> https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/ the settings that you’ll lose are these made in theme files or theme plugins files.
