I was trying to have the links under the Events tab be under News, but for some reason they never showed up and I had to make the Events tab.
I’m fine with the menu how it is now, but I still need to know how to edit that part of the menu and why it acts differently. News is a custom link with “#” as the url, and there are no sub items under it in Appearance->Menu.
I tried disabling plugins, and as far as I can tell the theme and plugins are up to date so i’m not sure what the issue is. Could you help point me in the right direction?
Have you tried dragging the items in the Events menu item to appear below the news menu item? Like this for example http://prntscr.com/i8f2vk
Yes, they where not showing up in the menu when they where under News and that’s how I noticed the problem. I made Events and put them under there after.
Currently there’s nothing under News in Appearance->Menu, but if you look at the menu on the frontend of the site you’ll see “All”, “Contests”, and “What’s Going On” under News. All three of those items are blog categories and i’m just looking to understand how they are showing up when there shouldn’t be anything showing up under news with the current setup.
Again, I’m fine with how everything looks / works. I’m not wanting to change anything, just looking to understand how and why since this is the first time I’ve come across this.
Hello,
The sub-menus are grabbed by the mega menu option even though there are no submenus manually added. The mega menu will automatically grab the sub-menus if activated: https://forum.tagdiv.com/mega-menu/
Thanks.
The mega menu will not show custom post types. If you have events and not standard posts, they will not show up in the mega menu properly. The mega menu was only designed to show posts. If you need to show other post types in the menu, then you cannot use the mega menu option.
Thank you!
@bogdan News is setup as a mega menu and that’s why nothing else will show up. Thanks for the help.
