I’ll keep this short.
> I import a Blank Footer Template from the Cloud Templates
> I edit the footer, add a row, a column, etc.
> Save the footer template
If I go back tot the Cloud Templates I am unable to re-edit that footer template using the TagDiv Composer. The option is missing for the footer template. TagDiv composer works for the other imported/modified templates (header, post, category, etc)

You can only modify the footer with TagDiv Composer if you go to a page where it is assigned and edit that page with TagDiv Composer, and then you will have access to the footer also. For example, edit your homepage with TagDiv Composer, scroll till footer, click on footer zone and you can edit it.

One more thing though.
If I add an inner row and want to have 7 columns, the layout box only offers me some limited options.
How can I add more?

A solution could be to split 2 columns and add an inner row in each of them then set up the layout in 3 columns and 4 columns for the inner rows. Check this video where I was set up 6 columns to see exactly how you should handle with rows: https://www.screencast.com/t/mZ2c5XamTFN
