Unable to select sidebar for post

Hello,

I’ve recently created a new category template using the TagDiv Cloud Library, and during the creation of the template I selected a sidebar for that category page to have.

I now want to select a different sidebar for the posts within that category to use, and I’m unable to select an option in the theme panel.

Instead posts within that category have the default sidebar for the theme.

Is there anyway to have a different sidebar for a category page, and then select another sidebar for posts within that category? Instead of using the default one?

Thanks,

Hi,

Please note that if you chose to use the templates from tagDiv Cloud Library the settings from theme panel will not longer apply, if you want to have the same template with different sidebars on different categories, for this you’ll need to duplicate the category template and change the sidebar with tagDiv Composer.

Thank you!

Hi,

I’ve tried the category template through tagDiv Composer, and it only changes the sidebar for the main category page, and not for the individual posts assigned to that category.

The individual posts are still showing the default sidebar.

Thanks,

Hi,

So you want to inherit the sidebar from category to post? if is so then you’ll need to use the default sidebars from theme panel, only those will inherit the sidebar for posts from with current category.

Hi,

Yes, that’s what I was looking to do. Although since I have Cloud Template enabled for the category, the sidebar option you’ve shown isn’t appearing unfortunately.

I’m not sure that’s how it should work?

Thanks,
