Unable to Update Theme and Images Not Resizing

Hello,

I have two problems that started in the last 72 hours: 1) I updated the JetPack plug-in, which immediately caused the display images on the homepage to not resize, instead displaying as full size in the preview window; 2) I am unable to update the new theme upgrade, as the theme add option does not have an “update” option, instead giving me an error that the upgrade cannot be performed because the theme folder already exists.

I checked the JetPack plug-in, which said there was an error, which could be caused by a problem with the theme.

Suggestions are welcome.

Perhaps
a) try updating theme via FTP vs through panel
b) install new clean copy of JetPack after fully deleting current JetPack folder
c) make sure site works before activating JetPack again

Not sure that helps, but that’s how I’d proceed.

Also note the 6.6.1 update only updated a single plugin, not whole theme, so if already at 6.6., be sure to check the changelog in the Newspaper-tf folder before doing updates.

Thank you. Just deleted and re-installed Jetpack. Same problem. I now get the following error message: Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible
Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 502]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com. If you need further assistance, contact Jetpack Support: http://jetpack.me/support

Right … that says a lot. It means the Jetpack server cannot access YOUR server so can’t connect; just what it says.

You might check to see if you have some kind of blocking redirect or something for your site; or as it says check with your host to make sure they didn’t block WordPress.com accidentally.

I blocked Google once accidentally .. that was fun 🙂

i have faced the same issue, but then i re-sized all the images manually. it took 2 days for me to do so.
