I upgraded to 9.7.1 following all your instructions and I got just blank pages on http://www.dringrid.ca and anything I click on wp dashboard or menu is just blank page…

I can’t seem to be able to access the website, there is a 500 error currently. Should be no problem if you follow the guide – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Also the most reliable method to update the theme is by FTP – https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/
In some cases 500 errors were caused by insufficient memory, we recommend a value of 256M if possible. Try increasing it or contact the hosting provider and provide them with this guide – https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-requirements/

There has been a new theme update released (9.7.2), it fixes various issues. Please try and update to this version. Then update the theme plugins as well. Let us know the results if possible.

I tried to install 9.7.2 via ftp this morning (8:37 am MT)- it still doesn’t work.
My hosting company sent this replay:
“Hello,

So I am sending you email with cPanel access.
I have two websites with Newspaper theme – dringrid.ca and arbutusmc.com.
I tried to update only dringrid.ca as the arbutusmc.com is launching next week on May 2 and I need the web to be running.
Can you please, after you figure out what is going on with dringrid.ca, update arbutusmc.com as well?
My another concern is about plugins which I wanted to install for both websites – WP Super Cache, Contact Form 7, WordPress (Yoast) SEO and WooCommerce. Are those plugins working OK with the new update of Newspaper?
And the last question for now. I use Envato Market themes and plugins installer which worked very well with previous updates of your theme but crashed with this update of Newspaper. Have you tested it and can this be used for future updates?

This website – https://www.dringrid.ca/ seems to use 9.7.2, I browsed it for a while, works fine.
The other website uses 9.6.1, if this is planned to be launched in a short time maybe postpone the theme update for a later time.
The plugins you mention are compatible with the theme, there should be no problem using them, same as before the update.
Updating with the Envato plugin from what I know may fail sometimes. There were some users that have reported this in the past. The more reliable methods are by FTP or WordPress when it is possible to do so.
