Update to 11.4.3 makes it impossible to filter by tag slug, both in Flex Block 1 and Trending Now, at least. I reverted to 11.4.2 and it was resolved.
Hello, we are developing a site identical to ours in staging, when we upgraded the problem appeared.
For example, on the homepage, we have a trending now block that has a filter for a specific slug. But all the latest posts appear.
How can we give you access to verify?
I can confirm that in the ‘trending now’ block it works. But in a ‘flex block 1’ with the following filters: ‘category filter’: ‘single -related from tags’ and ‘Filter by tag slug’ doesn’t work, when in version 11.4.2 it works.
Hi digitalrecordtv, can you please provide a screenshot with the tag slug on flex block so we can make some tests (https://i.imgur.com/l1sLTJ1.png), for me everything seems to work, but maybe you have a different structure for the slug.
Thank you!
Hi, I’ll give you an example.
As I said the category filter is ‘single – related from tags’, ‘filter by tag slug’ is in this case ‘video-p’ and there are some categories that are excluded (but apparently they do not interfere with the results obtained).
I created a single template for a type of post (programs).
In this template, there is a sidebar that displays all the videos related to this program. For this, the videos have in common with the program the tag with the ‘name of the program’ and another ‘video-p’ (exclusive to program videos).
So the filtering is done this way, whatever the program with this template, it presents videos that have the same tags (program name) through the ‘single – related from tags’ + ‘filter by tag slug’ is in this case ‘ video-p’. And in version 11.4.2 it works, see the following image (program ‘Reis’, video ‘Reis’):

For reference, in this same version (11.4.2), if we remove the filter by tag slug, all the latest published posts appear (see next image):
https://miramar352649001.wpcomstaging.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/v1142-2.png
After the update to 11.4.3, the filter no longer works, see next image (conditions are the same as in the first image):
https://miramar352649001.wpcomstaging.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/v1143-1.png
As a reference, if you then remove the ‘video-p’ tag, there are no changes to the posts that appear (they are the same as the last posts published), which shows that it is not working in this case.

Thank you!
Hello, the problem remains!
I did as indicated: disable, delete, and reinstall from the theme plugins panel.
It still doesn’t work.
I replied yesterday morning to your email but I still haven’t received a reply!
Thanks.
Hello, although it is strange to have stopped working from one version to another, I managed to solve it by changing the logic of the filters.
I keep the ‘Single – related from tags’;
I add in the ‘multiple taxonomies filter’ the ID of the videos category (since all the program videos are there);
in the ‘filter by tag slug’ the tag ‘video-p’ (which allows identifying program videos).
Thus, the filter works – in the post of a program with a homonymous tag, the videos of that program appear in the sidebar – without having to create a single template for each program.
I’ll keep testing, but I think it’s resolved.
Thanks.
The problem still exists – I’m on version 11.5.1.
I used to be able to filter by multiple tag slugs like this: tag-name1 + tag-name2
This no longer works.
In the flex block settings, I used to be able to filter posts by using the filter by tag field. In there I could use simple Expressions like + to be able to show posts that share 2 of the same tags. This has always worked up until recently- and I really need this fixed as it has broken many of my landing pages.
Hey, unfortunately, I don’t have time to troubleshoot this error.
I’ve had to scrap conditional multi-tag filtering to opt for a more simple approach to keep our readers happy.
