Hello,
I was wanting to put a notice at the top of my updated posts that read, “This post was updated on Jan 1, 2109” (the date being whenever the update was made). The purpose being that a post may be months old as indicated by the original published date, but a viewer would be alerted by a notice that the post has been updated/modified more recently. Does this feature exist in the Newspaper Theme? I have looked through the documentation but have not found anything.

Unfortunately our theme do not have this future, sorry.
You can make some changes in theme file to show the when was made the last update.
