Updating PHP 8.1–>8.2: Godaddy missing MySQL extension

I’m trying to upgrade PHP to version 8.2, mainly because GoDaddy recommends the update for security reasons, but more importantly, because GoDaddy is charging an “Extended PHP Support” fee since I’m using deprecated 8.1. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?

Hi,
The error indicates that the PHP MySQL (mysqli) extension is not enabled on the server, which WordPress requires to connect to the database.

This extension is provided by the host, and if they charge you extra for an option necessary for WordPress to function properly, what you can do is look for another hosting provider that can offer you the MySQL extension for free or in a service package.
