Hi,
What about creating a way for us to make code customization that would not be erased when updating.
If not with child themes then maybe by using git?

Oh, I just think I understood I can do this without having to be able to branch your git repo, do you understand about it?

Hello,
you can use winmarge http://winmerge.org/ – it’s a free tool that makes a diff between entire folders and you can also see the changes on a per file basis.
We built the theme like that because it has some very advanced features and flexibility that the wordpress template system didn’t provide (ajax / blocks / modules).
I would not recommend git
