Updating to version 8.7.1 breaks WordPress Dashboard – Error 502 Bad Gateway

Front end of site OK, login screen OK, but when logging in I get the 502 Bad Gateway Error.

Reset to TwentySeventeen – everything OK.

Restored Newspaper 8.6 – everything OK.

As soon as I update to Newspaper 8.7.1 – WordPress Dashboard breaks.

SiteGround GrowBig Shared Hosting.

PHP 7.0

Updated via FTP.

Any ideas as to why this may be happening?

In some cases there were 500 errors caused by a setting in cpanel

We are working to see why that setting is causing the 500 errors. Sorry again for this inconvenience.
