I tried to upgrade my website from 7.8 to 8.7, but all of my content disappears (screen of death). I tried to disable all plugins, increase memory, etc and nothing helped.

Please increase your memory to 256mb from wp-config. This fixed it for most users.

Increasing memory in wp-config didn’t change anything. My hosting provider gives me 128mb max for current price package. In order to increase it, I will have to change my package:( Is that a problem?

That is quite a limitation, the value of 128MB will not guarantee a proper functionality. Now days double that amount would be considered sufficient in general, in some cases even higher values are required or should be set if possible and not limited.
