Upgrading to PHP 8.0 issue

Hi,

we have tried to update to PHP 8.0 with WPEngine (our host only allow us to upgrade to 8.0.13, not lower) and the site break. We have tried this with a new site so we only had the theme enabled and all the plugins disabled. The site crashed -> There has been a critical error on this website.

We have reverted back to 7.4 and the issue disappeared. We have 3 sites with Newsmag and we need to upgrade to 8.0 so can you please let me know?

Hi bettingspin,
I just made a test and I installed the theme on php 8.0.13 and for me is working without problems -> https://i.imgur.com/tgtsceb.png -> https://i.imgur.com/XfPQmAj.jpg therefore I do not think that the problem is from the php version.
Can you please provide more details about the settings and some screenshots with the error.

Hi Catlin,

sure, I am unable to send screenshots of the issue in the forum. Do you have an email I can contact you?

Also, what kind of settings do you need? We switched off all plugins and just let the theme on. We did that on a new site to test all was ok.

Hi Catlin,

we have investigated further and it looks as it was due to a plugin the problem. We have now deleted before upgrading and looks fine. If any issues I will let you know but that looks resolved for now. Thanks for your prompt feedback.
