some of our URL´s seem to have changed for no reason. For example, where before it was https://www.florida.nu/key-west/, it is now https://www.florida.nu/key-west-2/ and the original post seems to be redirected to the new URL. This is true for various posts, but not all posts on our site. Why is that, what does it mean and what can I do to go back to what we had?

That would be the case if there are multiple posts with the same name created. Note that even if the post is in the trash section the same name cannot be used until it is permanently removed

thanks for the reply.
What is weird about this is that we have not erased any of the posts in question. The numbers seem to have just shown up “by themselves”.
Also: There is no “trash” sign in my post section, so I guess, trash is empty. And if so, should I not then be able to edit the slug back to no-numbers?
Any other idea of how to remove the numbers? Or why this has occurred?

Hi,
Something must have caused the issue, a plugin maybe. If you are certain there are no actual duplicate posts, try deactivating all plugins except theme plugins and modify a URL as it was before, with no number. Check the results.
