Hi,
I’m having an issue with the way the login menu works.
If I change the user display name to show “Name + Last Name” instead of username, a newly registered user cannot click his profile name in the login menu to view his profile page.
In the screenshot below the user has registered with the login modal, which asks for username and email. After the user is logged his username is not shown in the login menu as shown in the screenshot hence the user cannot click on his username to go to his profile page.
This happens because the newly registered user did not submit his name and last name during the registration so the login menu cannot find it to show it.
I require to show the name and last name on the display name instead of a username.
Could you kindly advise on the matter?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Andreas

Hi,
Thanks for your immediate response.
I’m using the Ultimate Member plugin which has an option under General>Users>User Display Name and which I set to First Name & Last Name.
Before changing that setting and with the UK plugin installed I did not have this issue. The login menu showed the user’s username.
Now, I changed that option back to the default WP display name option and when I register a new user with no name and last name, the username appears on the login menu.
With this setup though, the article author byline shows the username of the author which I do not want.
So, the issue here is:
1. I don’t mind having shown the username instead of first and last name in the login menu as it is the standard.
2. I want to show the first name and last name in the author byline instead of the username. I can manually do this by changing the WP user option for each author, but that is not ideal.
I hope this information is useful.
Looking forward to your kind response.

Andreas
Hi,
Unfortunately, the Ultimate Member plugin has not been tested with our theme and therefore, we cannot say for sure if it will work or not as expected with the theme, sorry! Also, we cannot provide support for untested plugins.
This is our list with tested plugins with our theme -> https://www.screencast.com/t/cmPkh9jba4sZ
Thank you for your understanding!
