Users who aren't full administrators have lost the option to add a new post

We use the Newspaper theme to run our online student newspaper. When a student starts working for the newspaper, we add them as a new user, usually with the role of “Editor” so they can post their own articles. Recently, users who are “Editors” log into WordPress and can’t find the + button to add a new post. Our workaround has been to make them “Administrators” but I don’t really want all of my students having full admin access to the site (thebroadsideonline.com)

This is confusing because students have had the editor role for months and have always been able to add posts until now. Is there a way to change the abilities of a particular user role? Or a way to put the + button back on the menu for Editors? Please advise!

Hi,
I made some tests and the theme is working correctly, the add new button is there for a user with an editor role. Maybe you have this problem because some extra plugins that you are using. Please do a test using only tagDiv plugins.
Thank you!

That was really helpful, thanks. It turns out this problem is being caused by an event calendar plugin. I will contact the maker of that plugin and let them know. I hope this doesn’t mean I can’t use it anymore…
