It seems like using a child theme breaks some functionality.
For example, smart sidebar stopped working, 2 blocks from the footer do not show up, the menu is missing arrows (the ones that appear when there is submenus) and it seems like the text doesn’t fit well inside roms/games the counters appear below.

Is it supposed to have this problems or can be fixed?
I had an issue where all my social sharing buttons disappeared and other weirdness.

I had to copy the images directory into the child theme.
I also updated the style.css from the new child theme.
I don’t think the change long had any changes to functions.php or header.php.

@nico The theme is tested and works fine with child theme, however you have to make sure that the custom code add added there won’t break site’s functionality. The indicated issues seems to be related with css so make sure that the custom code won’t breaks the layout.
