Hello, is it possible to use the standard WP taxonomy with the CPT template? It doesn’t appear as an option in any of the taxonomy-related pulldown menus for the CPT template.

Hi Bettina, I’m setting up the CPT & Taxonomy page. The problem is with the choice of taxonomies available on the pulldown menus. See https://imgur.com/a/edyNvVt.
The point is that the taxonomies which are in the pulldown menus are only the custom taxonomies listed in the Custome Taxonomies section at the bottom of the page. There’s no obvious way of choosing the standard WP taxonomies.
Ideally we want the listings to be posts of a custom post types (advanced ads), but using the normal WP categories and tags. The aim is to avoid running two taxonomies and managing the correspondences between them.

I’m not sure if I understood exactly how you want it to work, do you want the normal posts to use taxonomies and not just categories? Normally a taxonomy can only be used for custom post types!
