I love the theme update! It looks phenomenal.
I was wondering how I can customize the default video player which is used on the Newspaper theme. Rather than having it use the Vimeo player, I have a Vimeo Pro account which gives me the file URL location and allows me to embed videos into my own player.
For that reason, I have JW Player Ads Edition, which allows me to monetize. Right now the only way to get videos to show up in their specific position is if it’s strictly a Vimeo URL. Since I’d like to use the pre-roll VAST tags I have, I was wondering what I need to edit (where to begin, what file it’s found under, etc) so that I can have JW Player V6 Ads Edition be my video player rather than the one Vimeo provides.
Vimeo Pro allows users to not only embed videos, but to directly embed the files which change to a mobile format or downgrade quality based on connection speed for you (acting as a $200 a year CDN, saving me $6,000 a month at least).
Where do I go about editing how a video is pulled? Ideally, if I could paste in the url to my video on Vimeo / YouTube area, and run the system through there, where would I edit this file and would it be best to use a child theme to direct this through?

Unfortunately we did not test this plugin with the theme, the theme uses the default wordpress video embed functionality and for featured videos we use the following code – http://screencast.com/t/0jj9otFkSMZ I cannot provide a quick solution for this, you have to make modifications to the code and they are not easy to do. My advice is to hire a professional developer to do this for you.

Wow, thank you so much for pointing out where to find the code! I will first try to accomplish this myself since I’ve been learning Javascript / JQUERY slowly while recovering from a spinal surgery.
I love your theme and I am really impressed with your thorough reply. I’ve never gotten a reply like this before. Your update makes your theme, in my opinion, the best magazine theme on the web. The options allow for such a wide variety of ways to create channels, unique posts, and I LOVE the listing feature.
I have interns who do the writing, but I handle all the video posts.

What would help here a lot is to offer a shortcode or custom embed code support for video posts. It is very limiting to have to use one of the 3 options currently available.

The featured video spot supports only youtube, vimeo and daily motion url, I guess that this is what you mean. Unfortunately this is how this feature was designed to pull also the video thumbnail(to be used on modules), so if you use another url(except those supported) it will not work, sorry. But you can paste the embed code in the post content and set the featured image manually.
