Hi guys,

i’m thinking about install Varnish in my Centos 6.6 dedicated machine, but first i’m trying to get some feedback if there are any known issues of this layout (Newspaper) using Varnish?

By now i use W3 Total Cache with memcached and everything works without bugs.

Thanks in advance

We’re using APC/opcache/memcache and mod_pagespeed on our Centos 6.5/final Apache setup and no issue.

Chose not to use Varnish due to tricky setup and mod_pagespeed had hooks into memcache already. 🙂

Can you explain that better please? What are the problems with Varnish?

Cheers

Not a “problem” with Varnish; we just had the other caching options pre-installed with our setup and just needed to implement them, and no reverse proxy stuff. Also mod_pagespeed already had a function to connect to memcache for speedup, so it made the most sense than experiment with Varnish.

Lots of folks do use it however.

I should also mention we’re using the memory based caching because we have 32GB RAM on our dedicated server 😉
