I’ve checked your site and noticed that you have some js errors in browser’s console: http://screencast.com/t/l4dTnhFSUrJ6 Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then test the site again.
We removed front-end editor with a hook within the theme becasue is not working properly with theme’s blocks. You can enable the Visual Composer front-end editor by removing this code: http://screencast.com/t/1N4LB7WhP2jR

no, i’m not going to enable the Front end editor if it interferes with the blocks.
So it’s the JS errors that are messing with the saving of the post grid?

I am not sure but those errors could affect the back-end and broke Visual Composer plugin. Try to fix the errors, clear the cache and test the site again.
