VC columns aren't working

OK, so I did update VC to latest 4.12 version and I finally upgraded theme to 7 (7.3). We do have child theme.

I can’t get VC columns to work for some reason, they all show as one column. All caches have been cleared, tried disabling all caching, and still nothing.

Here’s a screenshot of the VC layout: http://share.projectarmy.net/u3txmyngxf/

HI

I’ve checked your site and noticed that there is a wrong class added in html structure: http://screencast.com/t/GVwbM7vpyeF PLease check your customizations from child theme and make sure that they don’t affect page’s load, you can also try to deactivate it then test the site again.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Hey Andrei,

This seems to be an issue with CSS related to “vc_column_container” class, which has width: 100% and overrides CSS of the columns. After a bit of research I did find that this might be an issue with how you’re outputting classes and modifying them in VC. Someone else had same exact problem in a different theme with VC.

Here’s the info:
https://oceanthemes.ticksy.com/ticket/842704

You can see that they had a response from VC support, which indicated that:

The issue is because theme author has modified our default column classes using:https://wpbakery.atlassian.net/wiki/display/VC/Change+CSS+Class+Names+in+Output Due to this it breaks upon the update.

This sounds like a possible bug. Thanks.

Hi

The theme is tested and works fine, we didn’t received a similar report so far and is less likely to be a theme related issue. Did you tried without child theme and the problem is still there?
You can also do some tests on a new wp-install on your computer, using a fresh version of Newspaper. IF the problem is still there please provide the page’s shortcode from Visual Composer via http://pastebin.com/ so we can have a closer look.

Thanks!
