Everytime I insert this Widgetised Sidbar element into the template, the page would load like a gazillion of specific sidebars (i.e. Newspaper default sidebar) one of after another
I notice that they have the new VC version but if I read your earlier topics correctly, we dont have to purchase this license, Newspaper 7 will upload the new version after testing. Have you verified VC new version yet?

Now, you should use the Visual Composer 4.12.1 because the 5 version of Visual Composer has not been tested yet. We will consider doing that in our future updates. Until this, you should use the 4.12.1 version. Clear all your caches and check the results. Notice that the Widgetised sidebar is fully tested with the theme and until now we do not have any bad reports in this regard.

I currently have VC version 4.12.1 and widgetised sidebar doesn’t work as described. Should I uninstall and reinstall like instruction on one of your topics (how to activate VC).

Try to make a new clean install from scratch using only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicts. The Widgetised sidebars are fully tested with the theme and seem to work as properly until now. The theme installing should have to be done via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard
The Visual Composer does not need activation.
-The theme includes a license for this plugin so you don’t have to buy it.
-You don’t have to activate the plugin license, it’s already activated.
-You can’t update Visual Composer directly from the it’s producer.
-You don’t have to worry about the plugin update warnings.
-We provide updates on a regular basis after we test the plugin for theme compatibility we include it in the latest theme update, inside the ../plugins folder
