In version 1.6 the YT and Vimeo videos were played automatic in HD resolution. After I updated theme to 1.7.1 the videos don’t play in HD amutomatic. Only if you set it manualy!
Can you fix this?

This feature hasn’t been removed or altered between this two updates so it should work the same way. Please make sure that you also test this without using any plugins, empty all cashes and purge files if you use CDN host then check again.
Let us know how it goes and also provide a link to your site so we can inspect this issue and provide more details on this.

I disabled all plugins, that are not used by theme and the problem remains. I deleted cache and all is the same.
I don’t use CDN.

HD works with Vimeo videos, but not with YouTube videos!
When I disabled all plugins my site crashed. Everything went blank.
But my hosting company managed to restor the site. You can look for a problem now 🙂

I’ve also tested this using one of your videos and seems that we have an issues related to this as the youtube videos also start on 480 resolution on my side also: http://screencast.com/t/SGzBPQ9qyS
I’ve made a few tests and could not figure why this is happening as this hasn’t been altered within latest updates. I’ll add this on our todo list and fix it in the next theme version.
