Hello – I’m trying to embed a self-hosted video through tagDiv Composer’s Video Embed option and running into a “Render failed – please enter a valid video url” error message. The video is here: https://regulatory.news/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Regulatory.News-Explainer-Video.m4v. I know this is a valid video URL because I was able to successfully add the same video to this page using the WordPress block editor: https://regulatory.news/about-regulatory-news/
The Video Embed tool is working if I use a link to a YouTube or Vimeo video, but we’d like to use a self-hosted video in this instance.
Any suggestions? Thank you for the help!
Hello!
It seems you put the video from content, so that’s why is working.
But, unfortunately, the .m4v format is not supported by our theme at the moment and you can not use that link in the shortcode “Video Embed”.
You can try to upload the video in .mp4 format, then it should working well.
Thank you!
Hi Bettina,
we want to use Video Embed in tagDiv composer to display our selfhosted video.
Video Embed does not work with our selfhosted video.
it shows render error and request a valid video url.
the video url is working fine with tagdiv composer
single image,
column text,
text with title and even in
row setting it does display as video background, but not playing.
when we use the video url in browsers (chrome, FF, safari, etc) the video is playing.
Only tagdiv video embed we can not get it to work.
Does tagdiv video embed has a file size limit?
Can this be solved? Is there an online video file converted you recommend using to solve?
we use the latest Newspaper theme version 11.5.1

Hello!
Please provide more information about tried and it is not working, screenshots or a video and your website link.
A solution for sending a screenshot/video is this:
Download, capture, send: https://www.techsmith.com/jing-tool.html
After making the screenshot, you will have a link, paste it here.
Thank you!
We found the reason, tagDiv Video Embed showed message:
“render error and request a valid video url.”
Our Video file was larger than the max upload WordPress was set, which was 50MB in our case. After changing it to 150MB Video Embed showed the our video with the given link.
Bettina, you might confirm or not, that tagDiv Component video embed is limited to the max file size for uploads in WP Media. If the video file size is greater Video embed will not work.
