is there anyway to get the built in video player to work with a playlist instead of individual videos?

I think you mis understand…that plugin you have to MANUALLY enter multiple video ids. I need one that you can just enter a youtube PLAYLIST

when I add it on youtube videos are automatically added…with yours id need to write a function that parsed the youtube api to make a comma seperated list of youtube video ids…too complicated!!

I understand what you mean now, but the theme does not support it at the moment. Maybe in a future update we will be able to implement such an option. You can use a plugin for that if you want. Something like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/youtube-embed-plus/ but we did not test any YouTube plugins and cannot make a recommendation on which one works best with our theme. Try out a few of them and see how they work.
