Visual Composer broken after 4.1 WordPress update

Just upadted my wordpress installation from 4.0.1 to 4.1 and WP Bakery’s Visual Composer is broken.

Trying to move any element around freezes the mouse pointer in the move cursor and bugs out the VC element you are tying to move around, freezing it and leaving it unable to be edited or clicked. Happens on new pages and old pages. Tried, IE, Chrome and Firefox.

Just to be clear, to get the update for WPBakery’s VC I will have to re-download the theme files from Envato Marketplace once you made the update?

I assue it will have to be done this way, because in order to get updates fro WPBakery one must ‘register’ the plugin with them, but this one came with the theme.

Also, how will we be notified of a theme update? Through the WP update manager?

It’s redirecting me to the CodeCanyon plugin for VC – http://screencast.com/t/FgDjH0tI and I didn’t purchase it, it came with the theme. Where can I get this updated version?

Admin/TagDiv will post updated theme files tonight on ThemeForest (TF); TF will automatically email you once it’s available if you checked the box on the download page for your account. (Good time to check your download page on TF!) 🙂

“WP Auto update” doesn’t work, as the plugin is “bundled version” which comes with the theme, and not the separate licensed version you’d have to pay for separately.

I would assume Lucian/Marius et al will post an update note here someplace when that happens.

After upgrade the problem is resolved!

Hello

I’ve been trying to get my site back to normal after carrying out the update but failed. I’ve just restored the site using a backup and it’s still not working properly.

The Visual Bakery page builder is not showing at all. I’m unable to correct a problem with an extra Big Slide appearing under the correct one!

Could you take a look at it please and advise? I can give you the admin log-in.

Just updated the js-composer plugin following the directions from:

My Visual composer is still broken, showing the exact same behaviors as before: Trying to drag an column item bugs it out.

Should I update the entire theme instead?

I have the same problem with the composer.

I can´t save my posts and every time I get this error:

Switch to default wordpress theme
Turn off all plugins
Delete old vc plugin completely
Install new plugin
Turn on vc plugin
Rest theme
Test, then turn on other plugins.

You should turn off all caching before doing any updates.

Before the composer update from yesterday, everything works fine.

It is very complicated with updates, so much to be careful, why is that?

Are there any plugins that don´t work with the composer?

Wordpress 4.1 broke existing version of visual composer. That is the reason for update.

No, still not working. I’ve deleted Visual Composer, then re-installed a freshly downloaded version. I’m still seeing this (see screenshot) instead of page builder.

Nope, that didn’t work. No sign of Visual Composer on the home page at all.

What worked was taking the advice on another thread about changing themes:

1. Change theme away from Newspaper (I used wordpress’s own TwentyFourteen).

2. Deactivate all plug-ins.

3. Clear all cache, esp the browser (I use Firefox)

4. Change them back to Newspaper.

5. Activate Visual Comoser plug-in first, then check home page in WordPress CMS and YES! it appears.

6. Activate plug-ins one by one and check Visual Composer is still there. The answer for me was: yes.

7. With all plug-ins re-activated, Visual Composer was back and all working OK.

Well. everything is still completely broken.

I even tried it on a brand new install of wordpress, same exact error. It can’t be other plugins, or any other settings, it is the theme/plugin which is the issue…

I really want this to work with the latest version of wordpress… It feels like i bought a half baked product.

If I am going to be forced to use 4.0.1, the I might want my money back.

just tired it on another WP installation on a different domain I own… same issue…

I need some help with this ASAP or I will have to request a full refund, which is a shame, when this theme was working I loved everything about it.

Please get back to me ASAP.

Just running through the zip plugin files included in the theme, and the version of visual composer that comes bundled is still 4.3.4 instead of the new 4.3.5 version.

This IS the issue….

I just downloaded the theme files from envato TODAY, and it still has the old files.

Can i PLEASE get the updated js-composer.zip file that contains the actual updated plugin??
