Visual Composer – 'does not have valid header'

Hi there,

I bought and installed Newspaper 6.7 today and when I try to install the required Visual Composer plug-in it comes up with the following error message repeatedly:

——

Installing Plugin: Visual Composer
The plugin does not have a valid header.
Downloading install package from http://retail-inspiration.co.uk/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/plugins/js_composer.zip…

Download failed. couldn’t connect to host

Return to tagDiv plugins panel

——

Any ideas of how to fix/get around it?

Hello,
Please only use the visual composer version that comes with the theme. Please disable the plugin and delete it from the plugins section and then install it again from here: http://screencast.com/t/PtNqOuhl
If the error is still there, then access your files via ftp and delete visual composer (js composer) from your plugins folder and then try to install again.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.

Thanks for your reply, it is the version that came with Newspaper that I have tried to install.
It still hasn’t worked, can you confirm what folder on the FTP I need to upload the js_composer.zip file to? Thanks in advance!

I have found the folder so deleted and reinstalled js_composer.zip in to /wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/plugins

But I still get the same error:

I need a solution. I now have a template I have paid for but can not use because of Visual Composer not working.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Please try one more thing. If you have a child theme installed, please just install visual composer from the main theme. If this is not the case then please try to install the plugin via ftp. You need to unzip the indicated file here: http://screencast.com/t/RQSxW5EBpar then upload the folder js_composer in your-wp-install/wp-content/plugins on your server: http://screencast.com/t/hLQMV3wPi
If you still have trouble with it, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and ftp access so we can take a look.

Hope this help.
Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I tried many things because it seemed to be due to a zipped issue, none of the included plugins were working. In the end I decided to get a professional install done through Envato because I couldn’t determine what I was doing wrong. Anyway now all sorted 🙂
