Visual Composer Limited Category DropDown Menu

Hi Guys I have about 1086 categories on my website due to creating categories for profiled individuals. When editing my front page the drop down menu recognizes upto 1000 on the list. Meaning I can make features out of some important categories. As its in Alphabetical order, I am currently changing category names so they appear at the top and the setting can be made before they are changed back, but it would be wonderful if you could adivse how I can extend the dropdown menu list count.

thanks, but this file is not seen in editor, and when i edit it manually with notepad or wordpad it ruins the format which give problems when the theme panel is opened. How can i get it to show in editor?

First of all make sure you do a backup of your current theme/wp install and database also: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and in case something goes wrong in the update process you can always go back to the previous working version and try again. Then you have to edit the indicated file on your computer using a text editor. The file can be found in the folder that you downloaded from themforest here: http://screencast.com/t/92Jf4vsBt5QN After you make the changes upload the file via ftp on your server.

Hi Sorry to come back to this after such a long time. But I see the while and where to edit it, obvious it cant be edited in notepad nor wordpad? So what is the best way to change that number? :/

Thanks, I finally managed to get it down, however, I just figured out that this doesnt affect the list of categories when creating a mega menu in the menu section. :/

Any idea where that option is?

Its seem there is another edit to the theme, please where can i edit the limit for the mega menu, can you just make all of them 2000 in the subsequent updates?

Please your answer doesnt pertain to the problem being queried. Do try to follow the thread to know what is being requested. In selecting the mega menu in the menu section of appearance, there is a drop down menu that allows you to chose your category that will be shown in the mega menu. This drop down list only shows a maximum of a 1000 categories and no further down. In my case i need to edit the number that limits it to a 1000 as seen in the previous convo. It has been shown to me twice, but it seems the writers of the theme keep changing the location where this 1000 number is editted. That is the file im looking to change.

Either you havent reviewed the article above or you are confusing my request or both. So Ive sent a screen shot to simplify things.

The categories in the menu shown in this image are limited to a 1000, how do I increase it. Becus my website has over a 1000 categories, and the ones im trying to reach are further down the 1000th position in the alphabetical order of the categories.
